The Human Tissue Repository and Tissue Analysis (HTR-TA) Shared Resource is jointly supported and managed by the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Department of Pathology. The HTR-TA shared resource is certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The HTR-TA shared resource has been set up to facilitate the translational research of the faculty in the UNM Cancer Center, the Department of Pathology, the School of Medicine and across Institutes. This website describes the services offered and contact details of HTR-TA shared resource staff members who can advise on specimen availability and all aspects of histology and molecular pathology.

The Flow Cytometry Shared Resource provides centralized access to advanced cytometry technologies and expert technical support for UNMCCC members, UNM laboratories, and the broader scientific community. The Resource offers state-of-the-art flow cytometric analysis and high-speed cell sorting through a repertoire of scalable service models, including full-service acquisition, assisted workflows, and independent use—all tailored to meet diverse user needs and levels of expertise. Services support a wide array of applications, including classical immunophenotyping, cell cycle and apoptosis analysis, tumor microenvironment and leukocyte infiltration studies, and single-cell sorting for monoclonal line generation, CRISPR library construction, or integration into sort-to-sequencing workflows (e.g., 10x Genomics scRNA-seq). Bulk sorting is also available for re-culturing, transplantation, or downstream omics analyses.

The UNMCCC Bioinformatics & Data Science (BDS) Shared Resource supports basic, translational, and clinical cancer research by providing a comprehensive suite of computational and analytic services. These services include research design and development, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, cheminformatics, cancer informatics, and advanced statistical and data science methodologies.

The UNM Cancer Center Animal Models Shared Resource offers supports basic and translational cancer research by providing guidance, collaboration, and services in animal models and in vivo imaging for cancer research to UNMCCC members. It provides several types of outstanding services including consultation on experimental design, patient-derived xenograft implantation services, treatment and tumor monitoring, in vivo imaging, humanized mouse models, and training in support of cancer research employing animal models.

The Analytical and Translational Genomics (ATG) Shared Resource is essential for advancing basic, clinical, and population-based cancer research. It offers UNMCCC members and non-members cost-effective and comprehensive genomic analysis services, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial genomics, initial data analysis, and support for functional genomics assays and other genomics-related technologies.

The Advanced Light Microscopy Shared Resource supports basic and translational cancer research by providing access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and software for quantitative, multi-scale, and multi-modal fluorescence imaging to UNMCCC members and non-member users. The Advanced Light Microscopy Shared Resource provides access to seven commercial instruments for fluorescence, phase, or brightfield imaging, as well as multiple software platforms for image analysis.

The Molecular Biology Facility (MBF) provides Sanger Sequencing and DNA Fragment Analysis, 454 Shotgun genomic DNA sequencing, 454 Transcriptome sequencing from mRNA, and 454 Transcriptome sequencing from total RNA. The MBF also maintains a repository of equipment for use by faculty, staff and students to carry out molecular biology experiments.
