Facility Details

The UNL Nano-Engineering Research Core Facility (NERCF) is the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's shared research infrastructure for advanced materials characterization, micro/nanoscale manufacturing, and bioengineering research. NERCF provides open access to more than 20 state-of-the-art research instruments, technical consultation, user training, and collaborative research support for investigators from academia, government laboratories, industry, and external institutions. Major capabilities include scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam, X-ray computed tomography, metal additive manufacturing, atomic force microscopy, nano-IR spectroscopy, optical profilometry, and mechanical characterization. By integrating advanced manufacturing with multimodal characterization, NERCF supports interdisciplinary research, workforce development, and innovation across Nebraska and beyond.
